Photo of the Week - Starry Night at Arches | Travel Photographer

Nobody trips over mountains. It is the small pebble that causes you to stumble. Pass all the pebbles in your path and you will find you have crossed the mountain.

Happy New Year!  For 2011, one of my goals will be posting a 'Photo of the Week'.  The  'Photo of the Week' will share a favorite photograph of mine and explain some tips on how to capture an image like the one I post.  Some weeks I might even add in a quote... and who doesn't like a good quote? If you have any questions or comments, please leave them below.

Arches National Park - Utah - Travel Photographer

This a from a chilly, full moon night in Arches National Park in Utah.  It is one of the most beautiful and magical places I have ever been.  To get a photograph like this:

1) Shoot on a clear starry night, with light from the moon.
2) Set a slow shutter speed and use a tripod.
3) Consider using a shutter release cable to avoid any camera shake.
4) Dress warm and be prepared to spend some time in the dark.

Oh, and my new website will be up in a few days and I would love for y'all to stop on by my new virtual space and say hello!

Peace, Love, & Photos...
