Football and Love | J + B's Fun Wedding | Wedding Photography by Kimberly Mufferi

In honor of Superbowl Weekend, I wanted to share J & B's awesome traditional wedding with you.  There is a football theme, along with all the elements of a classic traditional wedding: church, large bridal party, long bridesmaid dresses, cake, huge reception, white flowers, etc.  And there are so many amazing personalized wedding details.  I always recommend to couples, that not matter how traditional or non-traditional their wedding is, make it theirs; personalize it to fit them.  This couple did just that.

Congratulations J & B!
An epic beautiful wedding for an epic beautiful couple!

Check out my photography from their wedding and learn more about the details from this original wedding, as well as some wedding planning tips and wedding photography must haves.  (There are also links to the vendors they used below, if you are in the process of planning a Hudson Valley Wedding).

J & B's Wedding Football - Perfect for their Autumn wedding and their love of football!

Pearl River Hilton

Gorgeous hotel for guests and bridal party along with welcome bags and special gifts for the bridal party.  It is always nice to give your traveling guests care packages.

The bride works in events, as you can tell.  She made many of the details for the bridal party!

Football jerseys and shots...

The groom is an Eagles fan... the bride a Giant's fan. #newjerseyproblems

The groomsmen head outside for a quick game of football.  Luckily the hotel had amazing grounds, perfect for sports and photos!

How fun is this?!

The groom works in fashion, as you can tell.  Ralph Lauren, yes.

Love this dress.  Love.

Personalized glasses with wedding colors...

and Eagles and Giants Garter belts!   You can find great personalized wedding items on Etsy.com and support artists and small businesses specializing in handmade goods.

The bride is a runner, so she opted to have personalized running sneakers to change into at the reception, with their last name on each shoe.  Not only is this a cute idea, it is practical!  As gorgeous as heels are, after many hours of dancing and celebrating, your feet will need a break.

One of my favorite detail photos of the day… a classic white bouquet, in the garden!

If it is in your budget, it is great to have the hair and makeup stylists come to you.  Less travel and no stress, especially if you can get ready at your gorgeous venue, like this bride did.  It also leaves time for more photos and maybe even some shots of tequila!

I make sure to photograph details such as invitations, programs, menus, place cards etc. as well.  So much thought goes into every aspect of wedding planning; you will want photos of it all.

and those perfect moments during the ceremony :)

Celebrate!

With today's use of social media, I recommend that couples post and/or print on the programs the best ways to share their wedding photos.  Be sure to have your @ and #hashtag specific to your wedding day.  This way, the couple and other guests can search, tag, and easily find photos from the day.   You can opt to use the readily available Facebook and Instagram, or you can look into other wedding apps such as: Eversnap, Appy Couple, and Wedding Party.

The gorgeous bridesmaids…. in classic black dresses.

And there's always room for some fun photos!

Show off your matching party socks!

 And grab a martini…  Cheers!

The handsome groom!

And don't forget to dance.

And take some moments to just breathe it all in.

The stunning bride!

Here are a bunch more details to think about…
The guest book was a large print from their engagement session, with me of course ;)  The guests can sign notes of love directly on the photo, which can then be hung in the couple's home… brilliant!  To see this couples awesome engagement shoot in Hoboken, NJ click here: http://www.kimberlymufferiphotographyblog.com/2013/04/hoboken-engagement-session-nyc-wedding.html

Their table numbers were displayed on bottles of Jack Daniels, a favorite liquor of the couple, but also something that can be drank or taken home...  Yessss!  And their favors were small bottles of champagne, sure to be put to good use.  I mean who doesn't love some bubbly every once in a while?

The first dance….

And more dancing!

and eating...

and then this happened...

and this… shots!

It is great to have a huge photo with all your guests.  If it's possible at your venue, you can have your DJ or band announce it.  It's especially easy when everyone is already on the dance floor getting down.

Like way down...

Classic and elegant cake.. sometimes smashed in faces.

Oh, and those bottles of Jack Daniels on every table… gone.

and more dancing!

Finally I always take my couples out for some night photos.  This couple opted to bring the entire bridal party out for some fun photos with sparklers.  For safety, be sure to get the extra long sparklers and have a bucket of water close by to put them out in…  and be careful, sparklers and Jack Daniels can be tricky :)

And of course, I always take a photo with my couples <3
Thank you J & B for having me document your wedding!

What details do you love?  Have you considered a themed wedding?
I would love to hear your ideas below!

And if you are not into DIY and planning as much as this couple, check into having a wedding planner or stylist like Michelle Edgemont or Reve Events.  I have worked with both of them before, they are fabulous!
